About UsLaunched over a year ago, MyGreenBirmingham.com (MGB.com) is Birmingham’s first and only green living website devoted to connecting eco-conscious consumers to the green movement. (Really it’s the only one in the State, but who’s counting…) Our mission is to simply exist as a tool to assist anyone navigating the waters of transitioning to a greener life. Our website connects locals to all things green through a comprehensive events calendar, relevant and local news and articles, a Green Guide, monthly giveaways, and more.

Eco-Market at the Green Building Focus Expo in Birmingham, Alabama, the afternoon of August 25th from 4pm to 7pm. The Market will be in conjunction with the launch of our 2nd Annual
My Green Home Giveaway presented by Alabama Power Company and a media day featuring nationally recognized eco-designer, Robin Wilson.
The Eco-Market is an opportunity to connect attendees with local and regional vendors of green goods and products, as we work to further the message of creating an eco-friendly lifestyle. Our vendors will range from dealers of home interiors and jewelry to design and wellness products. Additionally, as we announce the details of our 2nd Annual My Green Home Giveaway, our participating sponsors will be on hand to display some of the latest green products and technology that will be featured in our winning home.
The My Green Home Giveaway is by far our biggest giveaway and one that drives a lot of buzz and loads of traffic to our site. As you can imagine, the idea of winning a green home makeover worth thousands of dollars, creates quite the frenzy. With the help of our sponsors and the democratic process, we select one lucky homeowner to have their pad turned into an eco-dream. Local contestants write us and tell us why they want their home greened, three finalists are chosen, and the people select the winner. Once it?s all done, Birmingham Home and Garden Magazine will help us show it off!
A Few More DetailsThe Green Building Focus Expo is quickly becoming the largest, and most prestigious environmental and green building event of the Southeast. Last year’s Expo saw attendees in the thousands and had a number of internationally known speakers on hand, as well as hundreds of vendors promoting the latest in green products and technology. This year, the Expo will garner the same success, while incorporating elements that will bring in more of the mainstream - like our Eco-Market. Join UsOur Eco-Market will be the perfect opportunity to connect with hundreds and hundreds of greenies visiting the Expo floor. The Eco-Market will immediately follow a speaker presentation by nationally recognized eco-designer, Robin Wilson, and author of the recently released book, Kennedy Green House. She will also join us on the market floor for a special book signing. Visitors will have the opportunity to listen to a live band, enjoy a few (free) cocktails, and shop with you!
